“The more we align ourselves with love, compassion and forgiveness, and surrender to the flow of grace, the more empowered we become in exercising choices that are right for us.”—Sasha Samy

Sasha Samy is an Award-winning author of ‘Shadow To Light.’ Her passion is to assist others to empower themselves from ‘within’ through inner exploration and transformation. As an advocate of non-violence to oneself, to others and the planet, Sasha believes that peace and unity will only prevail when ‘respect’ and ‘reverence’ for all forms of  life becomes the norm.  She currently facilitates her ‘Circle of Life’ workshop and gives talks based on her book: Shadow To Light: Transformational Journeys From Abuse & Betrayal To Empowerment, which earned a Nonfiction Book Award.

Sasha’s burning desire to understand the inner workings of human nature and cultural society led her to pursue her Masters degree in English Literature. Her professional background in Education, and her love for studying, together with her challenging life experiences, awakened in her a compelling need to understand the psychological and spiritual self.

As a life-long passionate student of  evolutionary consciousness, Sasha is deeply interested in transpersonal psychology, works of Carl Jung, metaphysical studies, feminine culture, and topics related to sustainability and non-violence.  She possesses certificates in Counseling psychology and Psychotherapy, as well as certifications in several energy healing modalities such as Reiki Tummo, Chois, Spatial Light and EFT (Tapping), which she integrates into her daily routine of prayer and meditation.

As a volunteer, Sasha helped out at a Woman’s organization and raised funds for a hospital outreach group while living in Singapore.  She continued with her volunteer work as an English practice group facilitator to new immigrants to Vancouver after she moved to Canada. Her desire to contribute to society extends to helping others with her book, Shadow To Light. Sasha strongly believes that healing and transformation must take place from ‘within’ and that each person has a personal and social responsibility to heal and transform themselves. It is only in the healing and transformation of the individual that families, communities, societies, nations and the planet can heal.

Sasha hopes that by sharing the stories of healing, the power of conscious choices and forgiveness, as well as practical tools and techniques in her book, others will be encouraged to embark on their own inner journey to empowerment and authenticity.

As she says in her book, “life throws us many challenges on our paths for us to grow from them. It is our responsibility to confront and transcend them. Most of us will, at some point in our lives, traverse the ‘dark night of the soul’ through our trials and tribulations in myriad forms: divorce, illness, accidents, broken relationships, loss of a loved one, loss of job, loss of property, addictions, depression etc. These crises often provide us with the opportunity to die to our old self and to be reborn to our new self; they provide us with the chance to empower ourselves, to grow and to expand; to get in touch with our soul or essentially, to be attuned to our true and authentic Self. Our soul will keep prodding us to awaken us to our potentiality, to our creativity, to our abundant self, to fulfill our true purpose in life. Until we heed the clarion call of the universe, it will continue to rain down boulders on us to make us return to the source of our being.”

Introspecting her life experiences from childhood, Sasha realizes how synchronous connections and patterns unravel for one to fulfill one’s purpose in life. With a clearer picture of her soul’s calling, Sasha has been seriously preparing herself for this journey since the year 2000 with her deeply committed ‘inner work’ that she shares in her book and work with others. Sasha  resides in Vancouver, B.C, with her two daughters.
